Leonel Moura/Michel Paysant: Eco-Robotic Studio

The Guy & Myriam Ullens Foundation presents in exclusivity two artistic performances that integrate artificial intelligence into artistic creation. Leonel Moura (Portugal) and Michel Paysant (France), pioneers of Computing art, each develop their own medium to create new imaginaries. Their workshop becomes a showroom, and the making of the work becomes the work. In 1956, Nicolas Schöffer predicted a future where “the role of the artist will be to create creation”. The installations of Leonel Moura and Michel Paysant hold up a mirror of artistic creation and question the use of robotics in our world. The latest research by these artists, supported by the Guy & Myriam Ullens Foundation, was exhibited in 2021 at the UCCA Museum in Beijing, as part of the exhibition Immaterial/re-material, a brief history of computing art.
